A Note to the Parish regarding Christmas Services<hr />  As of this time, we are planning to offer Christmas liturgies as published: Christmas Eve: <ul> <li>4:00 PM Children’s service</li> <li>10:30 PM Caroling/Anthems in the Nave</li> <li>11:00 PM Midnight Mass</li> </ul> Christmas Day: <ul> <li>11:00 AM Holy Eucharist with carols</li> </ul> St. Stephen’s Day (Friday) <ul> <li>10:00 AM Holy Eucharist in the chapel</li> </ul> St. John’s Day (Saturday) <ul> <li>10:00 AM Holy Eucharist in the chapel</li> </ul> 1st Sunday after Christmas <ul> <li>8:00 AM Holy Eucharist</li> <li>10:00 AM Holy Eucharist</li> <hr /> </ul> Please exercise your own best judgment regarding travel in adverse weather conditions. Thanks to all members of the parish who have worked over the last days to prepare for Sunday and Christmas services; your generosity of time and effort has been a blessing to all of us! Important Message re: Sunday Morning Services at St. Timothy’s: <hr /> <o:p></o:p>Due to freezing rain following the snow, driving conditions in Salem are very dangerous. In consideration of this, the 8 AM Holy Eucharist is cancelled for this Sunday. <o:p></o:p> The advisability of offering the 10 AM Holy Eucharist will be evaluated later in the morning. If present conditions continue, this service, too, will be cancelled. <o:p></o:p> If melting of the ice occurs later in the day, the Festival of Lessons and Carols will take place as scheduled at 6 PM. <o:p></o:p> Please use good judgment in your movements during this freezing rain event. Donation baskets are by the font on your way into the nave. <hr /> <o:p></o:p> Other Upcoming Events & Notices<o:p></o:p> -Angel Tree Ministry: this is a special holiday offering that helps families of people in prison (many of whom live in our community) to have a happier Christmas. See the tree in the narthex and sponsor a family… you will be glad you participated in this long-running and special mission opportunity.<o:p></o:p> -Pledges for the 2009 Budget are still being sought. The Budget will be adopted by the Vestry at its December 16th meeting and presented to the congregation at the Annual Meeting in January. A hearty "thank-you" to all members who have pledged this year!<o:p></o:p> - Our next Host Week with Salem Interfaith Hospitality (a ministry to homeless families) is December 14-21. Sign up in the narthex to bring dinner, spend the evening, or stay the night on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday. This is a very valuable and meaningful ministry, particularly in this season of the year. <o:p></o:p> - The Service of Lessons and Carols is on Sunday, December 21st at 6 PM. Please mark your calendars to attend (bring someone you know from outside the parish to enjoy this special service) and sign up in the narthex to share your favorite “goodies.”<o:p></o:p> - St. Timothy’s is now hosting a childcare program on Wednesdays for the children of adults in the Fostering Attachment court. Even if you are not providing children care for this effort, you can contribute by donating disposable diapers or board/picture books (suitable for very young children).
